Question I am very fair skinned and have never had a spray tan. I just want a sun-kissed glow, plus my fiance will not get a spray tan so I don't want to dark. I am getting married in a month and I just don't know when to get my first trial tan. Should I do it 2 weeks before the wedding, and then if all goes well have it done again a couple of days before? We are having a destination wedding, we are leaving on Friday morning and getting married on Monday afternoon. I am also concerned that my tan may while we are on our honeymoon, we will be gone for a total of 11 days. Please help!!!

Answer: You can have a trial spray tan any time between now and about 1 week before the wedding.
However, since you are leaving on Friday morning and getting married on Monday afternoon it makes no sense to have a spray tan for your wedding in your home town, because by Monday afternoon your tan would be starting to wear off already.

The way I see it, you have 2 options:

1) Find out what spray tan solution they use in a salon at your destination and find a salon in your home town that uses the same one. Then, have a trial run now, and your pre-wedding spray tan on Saturday afternoon at your destination.
If you use the same spray tanning solution, you will know exactly what effect it produces on your skin and you will not get any nasty surprises.

As to your honeymoon - either get a tan extender or get another spray tan mid way through your honeymoon.

2) Second option - buy a good quality self tanner like SafeTan and practice with it until you get it exactly the way you want it. Take it with you on your wedding trip, apply a night before the wedding (so you can have shower in the morning) and the bottle will last you into your honeymoon as well.

Who knows, once your fiance sees you applying it at home, he might agree to let you experiment on him as well and when he sees how good and natural it looks, he might let you apply it for him on the night before the wedding.
