Question: If I get spray tanned once, will this help me tan better in the sun? Darker skin gets tanner quicker.

Answer: Absolutely not. Spray tan is just a cosmetic, and although your skin looks darker when you have it on, it has not produced ANY melanin that would protect your skin from sunburn or made it tan faster.

When you have spray tan on your skin still behaves as if it was lily white, so make sure you wear sunscreen and don't spend a lot of time in the sun or you will get burned, will peel and will look really ugly.

The good news is - since you are already brown you can take it easy with sun tanning and do it gradually. By the time the spray tan will wear off you will have a great natural tan and you will not even know when one starts and the other finishes.
