Spray tanning and humidity

by Charisse
(Ithaca, NY)

Question: When it's humid I have noticed that solution takes longer than 8 hours to adhere to the skin. The next day after a post tan shower sweat and streaking in heat can occur. Is this more likely to happen when you have had a few spray tans in a month? Any tips on best spray outcomes in really humid weather?

Answer: I have not noticed that frequency of spray tanning will make them more likely to run in humid weather, and the best tip I can give you is to find a salon with air conditioner.

Arrive at least 20 minutes before your spray tan, so that your body can cool down before you get sprayed. That way you will not be spraying a damp body. Very important.

After spray tan stay in the cool room at least another 1/2 hour (preferably 1 hour)for the tan to "set". That will definitely help control the streaking.
