spray tan preventing an actual sun tan

Question: if i got a spray tan and then 3 days later went to mexico.. would the spray tan prevent me from getting tan in the sun?

Answer: No it would not. In fact if you would not be careful, you could get badly burned, because spray tan does not protect your skin in any way from getting a natural tan. Spray tan is just a cosmetic application and so your skin reacts as if it does not have any color at all.
