SIlver Hair & Spray Tan Staining

(Ocean City MD)

Question: I have Silver hair....will it stain my hair if it gets on it?

Answer: Yes, there is a chance of that happening especially if there is bronzer in the solution. Bronzer is just a vegetable dye that is added to the solution which gives you an instant tan, but I don't like it much because it has a tendency to stain and streak.

To avoid getting your hair stained wear a shower cap and cover the roots of your hair that are still visible by putting some barrier cream onto them, or even better - vaseline.

Barrier cream is usually supplied by the spray tanning salon, but vaseline is more effective. You have to bring it yourself, I have not seen a salon yet that would supply it to their customers.

You don't have to put too much of it on, a little bit goes a long way.

How to remove fake tan FROM HAIR?
by: Anonymous

I was hoping to find a solution about how to remove fake tan from hair!

That one is quite difficult and only bleach seems to do the trick.

It is much easier to prevent it, rather than to reverse it.
- always wear shower cap when spray tanning
- if any hair is still showing, put some barrier cream on it, that will prevent spray tanning solution getting through and your hair will not get discolored.
