Lungs are irritated when using spray tanning

by Karen Shuler

Nose filter plugs

Nose filter plugs

Question: I get spray tanning done in a booth and the fine spray seems to really irritate my lungs. I hold my breath, but I still am coughing and it takes a few hours before my lungs completely go back to normal. Is this a common occurrence?

Answer: Yeah, that is what I really do not like about some spray tanning booths.

You can buy some sponge nose plugs (sometimes they even supply them at the spray tanning place if you ask), or just simply take a pinch of cotton wool and stuff it up your nose loosely (make sure you can still breathe through it). That will trap most of the solution and you won't have to breathe in that stuff.
