LOTION BEFORE YOU SPRAY TAN

Question: SHOULD I PUT LOTION ON MY LEGS BEFORE I GET A SPRAY TAN B/C MY LEGS ARE DRY ?

Answer: It would be a good idea, but make sure you exfoliate well first. Take your lotion with you to the salon and the technician will tell you which are the most problem areas that need moisturizing.

not what I thought
by: Anonymous

I thought skin should be completely free from substances prior to a spray tan so it does not interfere with effectiveness of the solution. A little bit of barrier on elbows and news if it's really dry but other than that? Be careful not to use pure shea butter, it will streak your tan.

Boshena's comment: It is usually best to have a substance free skin, but when people have a really dry skin, it can absorb too much tanning solution and the tan can turn orange. That is why for some people with very dry skin it is a good idea to lightly moisturize. You are right, Shea butter is much too heavy to use. A light, water based moisturizer is the best.
