is it ok to get spray on tan while you have stitches

Question: I will be going on vaction days after I have leg surgery. I would like to get a spray on tan. Would it be safe?

Answer: Spray tan is only meant to be applied to the outside of your body. It was never meant to enter your blood stream, so if you can find a way of covering that wound either with dressing or a thick layer of barrier cream than it would be OK to have a spray tan.

If you use the barrier cream, when you wipe it off after a spray tan you must do it really carefully so as not to mess up the rest of your tan.
