Do you still exfoliate in the shower with your spray tan on?

Question: i was reading how you are suppose to exfoliate in the shower before but i was wondering if you do it when you take a shower 5 or 6 hours after the spray .?

Answer: Absolutely not! The spray tan developes in the top layer of the skin, which is a dead layer. If you exfoliate, you will take some of it off and the tan with it. The result - patchy tan.

The reason you exfoliate BEFORE spray tanning is to make sure that the dead skin layer is shallow, so you will keep the tan for a while before the dead skin layer builds up from beneath and is ready to exfoliate.
